1/ Blue.
The first song on the album, (This Is My Book) to progress from just acoustic guitar & vocals, to a full pop rock band format - a sometimes difficult, but enjoyable learning curve.
Whilst not bluesy in genre, it still shares the age-old theme - a desperate plea of love & loss.
Thanks to Andy Morgan for providing a choice of rhythm options before settling on the great final track version. His interpretation of the song was perfect.
Lyrics: Blue.
Living on your own, it ain't easy
In a world exposed to you,
You said I was the man of the moment
My time it came and went too soon?
When you told me - our world was over
And everything just seemed so blue
I didn’t wanna be the one who’s, drying-out over you
Breaking out in a cold sweat, you wouldn’t want to see me go
Standing on the edge looking over, it’s not my finest hour all on show
Hey now, we had our flash points, yeah we burned like a fire of gold
But it got too much, this midas-touch & a feeling too-hot to hold
When you told me - our world was over
And everything we had was through
I didn’t wanna be the one who’s, drying-out over you, oh-oh-oh
Sleeping on your own it’s so easy, in a void devoid of you
You said I was the man of the moment, as wishes go, did yours come true?
Hey now, we had our flash points, yeah we burned like a fire of gold
But it got too much, this midas-touch & a feeling too-hot to hold
When you told me our world was over
And everything we had was through
I didn’t wanna be the one who’s - drying-out over you… no, no, no
I didn’t wanna be the one who’s - crying-out over you...
